Cause of Tremor |
The cause of tremors is still not known for certain, but is thought to be due to the abnormal activity of brain electricity that causes tremors to be processed by the thalamus. the thalamus is a structure within the brain that coordinates and controls muscle activity.
Tremor is a nervous disorder characterized by uncontrolled and unintentional vibrations. Parts of the body that generally experience tremors are the hands, arms, head, larynx, tongue, and chin. The lower body rarely experiences tremors.
Tremor is not a life-threatening disorder. Generally people who experience tremors can lead a normal life although sometimes have difficulty in doing some daily activities.
Is tremor the same as Parkinson's disease?
Many people think tremor is the same as Parkinson's disease, but both are two different disorders. Here are some differences between tremor and parkinson:
- Period of vibration
- Complications of the disease
- The affected body part
What are the signs and symptoms of tremor?
The most common symptoms occur in tremor patients such as:
- Experiencing an uncontrollable vibration in a short period
- A trembling voice
- Head often experience nodding motion
- Tremor worsens during emotional stress
- Tremor deteriorates with deliberate movement
- Tremors are reduced when resting
- Having balance problems
The cause of tremors is still not known for certain, but is thought to be due to the abnormal activity in brain electricity that causes tremors to be processed by the thalamus. Thalamus is a structure in the brain that coordinates and controls muscle activity. One cause of tremor is a genetic factor. A person born to tremor parents has a 50% risk factor for tremor.
How is tremor treated?
In some cases, tremor does not require treatment or treatment therapy. But if vibration can cause labor or work hardship then it is necessary to consult a doctor to get treatment.
Here are some steps you can take to reduce vibration or tremor:
- Avoid caffeine consumption. Caffeine and other compounds that act as stimulators can increase tremors.
- Avoid alcohol consumption.
- Minimize stress. Stress and anxiety tend to cause tremor to become worse. Getting the body to relax can reduce the occurrence of vibration.
- Changing habits. Use a hand that is not too tremor to experience the activity.
There is no cure for tremor, but treatment therapy can be used to reduce the occurrence of vibration and help improve the quality of life. Consult your doctor for treatment therapies and lifestyle changes so as to help reduce the occurrence of vibration.
