In our society there are many myths circulating around smoking and cigarettes. but it turns out that almost all myths are not true.
Without us knowing in our daily life there are many myths in circulation. One is the myth of smoking. Some facts from the understanding or myth that developed in the community about smoking.
Myth 1: Once a cigarette will not cause addiction
The fact is that nicotine in cigarettes can cause addiction in a short time. Nicotine can cause disruption of the chemical balance in the brain. So that causes a person to become addicted to tobacco.
Myth 2: Cigarette filters can protect smokers
In fact it turns out the filter is not intended to protect smokers because it is made to smoke particles become smaller. So that causes nicotine more easily absorbed by the brain. This increases a person's addiction to cigarettes
Myths that circulate is occasionally smoking does not have a negative impact on health
The fact that there is a health problem due to smoking does not only apply to heavy smokers or who have been smoking for a long time. American Lung Association says that smoking plays a role in the incidence of pancreatic cancer, kidney, bladder, and in women is cervical cancer.
Many also say that smoking can make us become relaxed and improve mood. The real fact that it is true that nicotine contained in cigarettes tends to make us feel good, affect mood and appetite. But keep in mind also that nicotine also affects all parts of our body, especially the heart and increased blood pressure.
